Here we go again: Red flag warning for Western Oregon and SW Washington.
I bring this up as we, as users of the forests, have responsibility to protect as well. While I don't expect the lay person to be on the fire lines, I do hope we use word of mouth, and the social side of snow-cats to get the word out to use extra care now.

So far we have escaped major damage from fire. Last month we had a big lightening storm and there were several strike fires here. One was on our place and the good news was there was quite a bit of rain with it so it was flaming but had not yet laddered up in the trees. We were able to put it out with hand tools and a back pack sprayer before the Calvary got here.

Fire season has wound down here, the last air tanker is formally off station and I thought that everyone might enjoy this picture from the 60s... Manning park is a couple hours North of Seattle just across the Border and did not suffer from political correctness back then :)
