o_OInstalled the fireplaces and worked on the boats. Kitchen project went by the wayside for a while.
So leveled the floor and started on the heated floor.
It's schluter ditra .
The orange stuff is the decoupling material that also holds the wires for the heat.
Gotta let the thinset dry before pressing the wires into the orange stuff.
Installing a versailles pattern slate floor over the ditra,
Three slabs of granite have been bought and my guy started fabricating.
A 48x60 island is going in with an ice maker, bar sink, and TCC built in blender.
Pics below.

So the kitchen island is now in place with the ice maker. The pic shows with clamps; I bolted it all together with with 1/4" stainless screws and nylon insert locknuts. The granite has texture, so the thing needed to be bolted together and leveled with shims underneath. Will fill the gaps in with the grey grout. The granite itself will extend about a foot towards this end. I will have TigMaster design a quassi-art-deco bookshelf out of stainless, or maybe even scrap Titanium, under the granite for the wife's cook books.

Granite has been delayed a week - the Blossomland Parade blocks off access to the island we live on, and the granite guy didn't want to be stuck here smoking cigars and sipping 18 year old Jameson until 3pm or so. I'll never be able to figure some people out......

Still need island and the raised bar along the outer edge of the sink run. Also the microwave, cappuccino machine, and warning drawer.
Then the glass backsplash.
Will have stainless behind the stove and in the area under the wine rack.
The sink adhesive is still drying.

Thanks.
Here's the island.
Having a stainless shelf made under the island ledge.
You can see the stainless for the cabinet with the espresso and micro appliances, and the back splashes for behind the oven and below the wine rack

And put down about a thousand square feet of 5" wide 3/4" thick oak, hung the tv, onkyo amp, jbl center, klipsch in ceiling rear , klipsch 400w sub, and martin logan main. This thing rocks the house
Now that the raised bar is done I can install the cover over the back side of the cabinets
