5/8” double flare tool

I’m rerouting my heater core lines. They are only 1/2” from the metal bulkhead. I’m going to cut these and might not have enough length remaining after I put on my 90s.
I need to find a 5/8” double flare tool, or the one that makes the heater core tubing bump profile for inlet and outlet tubes. All the kits I’ve seen max out at 1/2” for double flaring.
I might have to buy a heater core just to get the 5/8” fittings I need.
Any ideas? Thanks,

I'm just guessing, but you may have a little more room than that or a regular piece of hose would have been pinched flat. Go to a Cummins dealer and ask for part # 3957649. 2" total height, so roughly 1" offset when installed. You would need some sort of 5/8" splice after that though. Price is steep since it has an EGR cooler application. I'm sure there is some alternative out there that would save a ton of work. (Pics won't stick upright)

Another thought, is the core box square? i.e., can the entire unit be rotated 90* to allow the hose to run a different direction?

Thanks Dave,
Then whole heater looks to be a Pa Kettle job for sure. He should have left it to Geoduck and Crowbar. Two of the bolts are behind the radiator support. The core looks to be maybe 5”x5”. I’m going to get back in there today as I’m waiting for lots of parts.

Thanks so much for the fan - I’ll PM you. It’s a good match. The motor mounting plate is homemade so I’m not sure what the motor belongs to. The shaft is 1.5” long. I need a shaft about 2 1/2 to 3” to get the clip on the end, in this configuration.

Thanks,

I have what you need. don't buy anything.

I will unsolder a pair of 90's from a scout heater core Or I can mail you the core.

Let me get a photo.....

I wasn't implying it was bad.

I was hoping this surplus heater core had 90's on it.

some of these had a tight 90 degree tubes. (the later IH scouts with AC and evaporative controls)

the only assembly I could find has straights on it.

No worries. I was surprised it seems ok. I appreciate you digging around on this very much.

I ordered the Cummins elbows and barb connectors. This will be a sturdy fix for my cramped space.
Thanks!
