Every year a few buddy's and I get together and go camping in February. This year we went to Spruce Knob in the Monongahela National Forest. Hiked about 12 miles inall. We hoped for more snow but didn't get anything more than a dusting.

The year before we went to the Allegheny National Forest and had like a foot and half of snow!!! We wanted to do about 12 miles but the snow slowed us down to about 9.5 miles.

If anyone knows about any nice primitive camping spots in a National Forest let me know. We like to check out different places.

Here are some from the trip to Allegheny. By far the funnest/most challenging year we've had camping.

A Forest Ranger was nice enough to come and open a gate to a camping ground for our final camping spot. Only vechicles with 4wd were able to make it around up there so we were then only ones around for miles.

I'm kinda partial to Rocky Mountain National Park North of Denver in Colorado. Been there twice - the week before Memorial weekend and Labor Day weekend - got snowed on both times. need to go back.
Around labor Day the elk are out bugling - and they're everywhere up there.
There's also a small glacier you can access off one of the trails.
way cool.
