Okay, I think I learned enough of PhotoShop to resize pictures. If so, you can see what was left of this ultralight. The video is of the previous owner who flew it from MI to Evansville for my dad. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB6mM0MljIU"]My dad's plane before crash[/ame].
The frame tube runs the length of the aircraft but is two sections. The tail section attaches just aft of the pilot's seat and is held on by rivets. The prop on the plane is one of the best you can buy and was not turning when the plane hit the ground. The tail section would have to have swung out to the right side of the aircraft and up about 4' to get to the prop. I think I mentioned before that my dad said he heard a loud popping noise and thought "That does NOT sound good" and began a easy banking right turn, to return to the airfield. When I hold the tail section up as it is sitting on the trailer (in the same position I found it with my dad hanging out of it), the tail reaches the area where the prop would be spinning right at the gouges on the top of the tubular frame.
