It is sad, that what I hear on the radio is sales and marketing leading up to this weekend. I do not hear the reason for this holiday(in the media).
It is good to remember why we in the US have this holiday, and remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Those that came before us, and those that are putting thier lives on the line deserve the respect this holiday is meant to recognize.
Yup. It really bugs me too. This holiday like most others has turned into companies selling more product. Alas, that is what keeps the American engine going. Without Xmas, the economy would be pretty poor.
