This is about the third sub-$200 24 inch monitor deal I've seen lately. If you are shopping for a new monitor you should be able to get one for around $200 if you look around.

I don’t want to get everybody’s hopes up, but we just might be entering the era of sub-$200 24-inch monitors. Slowly but surely… slowly but surely. Today we have one from TigerDirect for $199 after a $50 price break, plus $1.99 for ground shipping. It’s a Synaps brand (whaaat, you’ve never heard of Synaps?) that features a 1920×1200 resolution, built-in speakers, and VGA/DVI inputs – sorry, no HDMI here.

Awesome! I was hoping my procrastinating would pay off. I've been taking in homeless CRT monitors ...I just might have to up grade eventually. Since I use my laptop mostly the monitor for the server only gets turned on once or twice a month.
