We're heading out early tomorrow morning to Pipe Creek Texas for our first of many tours out here. We would have liked to go to Yellowstone this year, but with Citygirls new job we had to revise our plans a little.

Our Lodge
Hill Lodge
The Lodge is situated half way up the side of one of the highest hills on the Ranch. Built at the turn of the last century from stones rolled from the ridge down to the site, the Lodge is authentically Hill Country in every way. It offers all of the charm coupled with modern conveniences one would expect in a lovely family home, fully air-conditioned and outfitted with all modern conveniences. The Lodge sleeps 6 comfortably in three bedrooms with additional accommodation for 4 more on foldout couches in the Great Room.
The Patio
The patio provides a breathtaking view overlooking the main valley and some 50 miles on toward Lake Medina. Pipe Creek flows through the lakes in the main valley on its way to join the Medina River. At night the stargazing is captivating.
Entertaining
A wood-fired barbecue pit designed like a wishing well is located to the side of the stone cistern that once held the water for the lodge. You might just get your wish for the tastiest steaks in the Hill Country. Just add a little cedar wood and baste generously. We can also arrange a catered barbecue, Mariachi band and cowboy entertainers for a festive fiesta.
Kitchen
A scene of farm animals over the kitchen sink, hand-painted by a beloved relative, greets you as you enter the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the amenities needed for an enjoyable stay including dishwasher, microwave, disposal and full-sized washer/dryer.
Dining Room
The adjoining dining room seats eight on an antique country table and chairs. The sideboard is fully stocked with placemats, napkins and serving pieces. Brightly colored pottery and glassware completes the table.
Screened Porch
A saltillo-tiled screened porch off the kitchen is a great place for al fresco dining or lounging, perfect for morning coffee or to catch the breezes on a lazy afternoon. Add candles and low light for evening and no setting could be more romantic. There's even a bed for napping or sleeping almost-under-the-stars!
The Great Room
With its twenty-foot cathedral ceiling, magnificent stone walls and massive working fireplace, the great room is the heart of the house. Deer trophies hang in hunting-lodge fashion on one wall while a picture window at the far end offers views of the valley.
Two couches provide additional foldout sleeping accommodations for up to four.
Ample seating provides space for entertaining, reading, playing the piano or watching TV.
The Master Bedroom
This peaceful spot has a dramatic cathedral ceiling, hand-carved furniture, two single beds and opens directly onto the stone porch. A large, fully equipped bath/shower serves the bedroom.
The Second Bedroom
This room is equipped with blue-and-white quilted bedspreads and rattan seating area; opens onto the stone porch and has a full bath with shower.
The Third Bedroom
Quaintly decorated in a pastel patchwork palette, this guest room has a bathroom with sink and toilet only. Both bedrooms enjoy breathtaking views of the valley below.
