Armored THIOKOL

Found this while I was surfing around the other day. China Lake Navel Base is out in my area off of HWY 395. The picture was taken in 1967 of the newest vehicle that the EOD teams were using to pick up left over "Bomblets" scattered across the test range. It was built at the Toele Army Depot in Utah (just down the road from the plant) The striped pole is an electro-magnet and in the claw you can see a small bomblet, as well as one in front of the tracks. Ive got inquires out to get more info and pictures. Will post them as they come in. Hard to tell what model it is, maybe a 1400.

Even with the armor plating, I don't think I'd want that job.
