Added some running lights to the motorcycles

Did my first night time test ride with the new auxiliary lights installed. I'm not much of a night rider on the bike, preferring instead to ride during daylight hours. These lights were added for added visibility during both night & day riding.

The lovely Mrs_Bob has identical front lights and a similar but different rear set up because her cargo boxes have integrated lights built into the boxes.

FRONT: DENALI brand "DRL" model LED running lights

The front lights are small LED light bars, located on each side of the front wheel, near the axle. They have a widespread beam and are designed to make the bike seen by oncoming drivers without blinding them.

The beam pattern spread is 180 degrees so they light up the front wheel and the ground around the motorcycle at night making the whole front end very visible. During the day they are bright enough in direct sunlight to be easily seen from the front or the sides.

REAR: Lighted license plate frame

Not as bright as the front lights but it gives some added visibility and is multi function. Technically this is legal to run instead of running dedicated brake, running and turn signals so it can be used as a stand alone unit but I wanted it added for more visibility. The bike's brake and running light is substantially above the license plate so this gives the back of the bike a High/Low light pattern with the lighted license frame.
  • WHITE LIGHT to increase visibility to the license plate.
  • RED LIGHT under the license plate is a dual intensity light module.
Functions as a secondary Running light at normal intensity.
Functions as a secondary Brake light when the brakes are applied.
  • AMBER SIDE LIGHTS function as secondary turn signals
