One thing I've noticed is that many people new to operating snow cats try to operate them much faster then they were ever intended to go. I guess they want them to go like a snowmobile. My friends are guilty of this a lot. Sometimes I have to reach over and slap them, because that is what they are doing to the equipment. I have operated the 1404 in four feet of Utah powder and it does very well, if your not trying to go 25mph through it. It was like when I was a kid and drove my dad's Ford 8N as fast as it could go across the field, boy would my dad kick my butt!
Tractors, just like snow cats are not to be operated at high RPM's and high speed.
