Bernie Sanders, Robert Reich thinks he can win the Presidency

I believe it possible Bernie can win the Democratic party nomination, but not the Presidency.
The only reason he has any significant following is that the lemmings on the far left still believe the progressive message but they no longer believe Hillary.
Since the Democratic party has such a limited, and frankly vacuous bench, this is for what the DNC members will settle.

The military needs 5 times the money nd NASA needs funded enough to put a base on the moon. What we need to cut back on if fraud and the billions we give other countries.
The Russian people could be our friends but their present government damm sure is our enemy.

I agree, plus we need to cut back corporate welfare. A flat tax would go a long way to getting us there.

I say carriers because the Ford is supposed to be the 1st MANY new carriers. I agree about expanding the space program. I agree about cutting back on fraud. I agree that we cut back on foreign aid.
What I disagree about is a whole new class of 13 BILLION dollar carriers (probably more each because of cost overruns).
I am certainly not advocating "smaller" in the sense of cutting the military to the bone. I just think that if (as you think), we get rid of fraud and some unneeded programs (like multibillion dollar carriers etc.) we could save a few billion dollars. Hey cut a billion here a billion there and pretty soon you are talking about real money.
As for Russia I think that Putin acts aggressively because he knows he can. Obama is a pussy to them and because our space program has been cut to the bone we have to hitch rides with them.
I have no idea why you think the military needs 5 times as much money when our primary enemy is a bunch of ragheads?

Aircraft carriers are small cities. They serve a multitude of services.
They are worth every dime as the deterrent they are alone.
We need a new generation of space shuttles and this time get a dispatcher who understands the art of the back haul.
Who ever has the first armed Moon Base will be top dog for at least a thousand years...
I want America to walk softly and carry a big stick. I want America to police the world so we can control the big picture of mans journey into the future. ...at least I always have....many Americans are not what they use to be. In the little picture areas of other governments I expect us to mind our own business. We need to clean our own house first....but not excursively.
We should close down the UN as it is and reorganize with only with free and open elected Governments. We should not do business with dictators period. The free world should organize and be overwhelming dominant militarily and monetarily. Any "Peoples" of the world who wish to join the new UN need merely develop a free society with an elected government.
I expect my government to exert global influence towards what's best for Americans but with an eye on our reputation as being fair and honest in our dealings with the rest of the world.
I want strong America, a country that sets the standard for the future of the human race.
I want us to continue to be explorers and go into space.
The exploration of space would drive a huge economy.
I know deep space exploration is a long way off but we have a lot we can learn around our own sun and you have to start somewhere.
All this BS with backwards countries we fool with now....the waste of lives....all so unnecessary...Maybe I am an optimist but it seems to me that Earth has more then enough good people that we should be able to make the bad actors behave or go away.
And just saying....our military people are out of pocket for a large amount of things that we should pick up the tab for.....that needs fixed ASAP.

Well it looks like Bernie can't even win Iowa.
Seems like Hillary won 50% to 49% ... and looks like Martin O'Malley is quitting/suspending his race.
Now nobody is 'calling' Hillary a victor. But if Sanders doesn't win by 5% or more then I think the real winner is Hillary. And Sanders may not even win.
Iowa is a state were over 40% of the Democrats self-identify as socialists. If he can't win Iowa then his campaign is in deep trouble. He may win New Hampshire, if only because it neighbors his home state of Vermont. But I doubt he will have any real traction nationally if he can't decisively take Iowa, and that is not a possibility based on the caucus results.
As for the GOP, I'm shocked that Rubio is within 1% of Trump and took 3rd place, but I'm thrilled that Trump only got 2nd, in fact he was several points behind Cruz who grabbed 1st with room to spare.
That said, I'm saddened that Paul didn't even pick up 1 delegate in the caucus. He won the young vote, and the liberty vote. But only took about 5% of the total. On the bright side Bush was a couple points behind Paul so Bush is burnt toast, despite the big money backing and establishment support he maintains.
Also Mike Huckabee is suspending his campaign, garnering only 1.7% of the vote in a state where he was the winner in 2008.
