Time to silence Limbaugh

according to MediaMatter, the ultra left wing mouthpiece of the lonnie left.

First it was Glenn Beck. Now Limbaugh. Who is next?

I despise liberal talk radio, what little of it there is. As a conservative I choose not to listen to it. The leftie loonies hate conservative talk radio so they want to silence it. Hmmmmm. See the difference in philosophies?

The lefties had their own talk radio network. It could not stand on it's own. Seems nobody would support it. Those who wanted to listen to it apparently did not support the advertisers and though they loved the hate speak, the lefties could not figure a way to get someone else to pay for it.

It is a prime example of why socialism doesn't work after you run out of other peoples money.

So instead of competing for viewers and the advertising dollar, they villify the competition and try to level the playing field with hate speech. If destruction is your intent, the Sal Alinsky way works. It doesn't create anything but it sure is effecatious at destruction.

I really don't listen to those guys of the left or the right . It reminds me of fingernails on a chalkboard .

I do have a question .

When presented with a damn good question or a opinion that does not mirror their own , Why do these guys have to belittle the caller ? Seems to me that makes them (Talk show host ) look pretty damn stupid .

The way I see it, some people in media positions of power, fall victims to their own hubris. That same hubris caught up with Dan Rather and Phil Donahue as well.

Ha, remember when there was a time a lot of these guys were called shock jocks for the totally outrageous things they said. I guess those days are over. Unless of course the women you want to poke fun at have the last name of Palin or Bachmann. Then all is fair in war, I guess. :ermm: What did Bill Maher say about Bristol Palin. Something like she was f***** so hard a baby fell out. Never heard a word from POTUS about that one. Hmmmmm.

I always thought shock jocks were associated with radio.

I tend to think Rush doesn't consider himself in the same category as Howard Stern.

It is unfortunate that the POTUS has seen fit to insert himself into some of these media debacles as it sets an impossible precedent. But, he stepped in it. He'll have to deal with it.

BTW Bill Maher's line about Bristol Palin was "Bristol Palin has to admit that the reason she f'd Levi over and over until a baby fell out is because she liked it."

If she is going to take issue with his comment in a letter to the President asking why he didn't call her, she really should be a little more exact. Saying "He’s said I was “f—-d so hard a baby fell out.” well, no, that is not what he said. But the way Miss Palin puts it incites a lot more emotion.

For most of us who have had babies "fall out" (how I wish it had been that easy!:yum:) , well, it is true, we engaged in the procreative activity because we liked it. Bill Maher's comments about Palins sexual activity were inappropriate but I don't see how they can be equated with the diatribes in which Rush engaged regarding Miss Fluke, but that's just me.

Rush's tenacious focus on Fluke brings to mind a quote from Sir Winston Churchill that I happened across, today. "A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject."

Amen sister, amen..

PS.. Bill Maher is an asshole..

I'm viewing tonight with a friend who is generally considered an asshole, and he just strenuously objected to being put in the
same category as Maher. He prefers to refer to Maher as "a mass of vomitous matter, regurgitating half-digested and utterly
incomprehensible pseudo-thoughts".

Concerning Maher, back in the early days of Politically Incorrect, I found him somewhat funny and amusing.
Even liked his '08 film Religulous, because it WAS funny in a lot of spots as well as thought provoking.
He's become the lefts idealistic leftist, but at the same time has been hyprocrytical, at least in my opinion.
He's nothing more than a pseudo-intellectual media tool.

Well, regardless of Maher's exact wording, it does not take away from the fact that his comments are demeaning to all women in general, not just Bristol Palin. Also, that is a beautiful baby in that picture with it's mother. For me, a mother with child is a sacred thing that should not be demeaned in this way. Call me old fashioned. Maher is irrelevant. At least Rush had the nards to apologize. One can accept it or not, but it does not take away from the fact that he was man enoungh to offer it.

As a conservative I choose not to watch Mahre's "show" Do I wish to actively participate in running him off the air or boycott his sponsors? No. I simply choose to ignore his show. I actually continue to give money to HBO through my Comcast bill because overall it has some shows I like. Damn few, but some. I believe that is the channel he is on, cannot remember offhand.

Back on Topic.

Those on the left prefer to eliminate that which they do no agree with, either by legislation or boycotts. A glaring difference between those on the left and those on the right.
