Minor bathroom upgrade

I decided this week to upgrade the bathroom upstairs. I wasn't going to dive into a huge project though. What I did was change out the cabinet handles, towel rack, bath mat and shower curtain. I also took down a small medicine cabinet over the toilet and replaced it with a chrome shelf for more storage. The old handles etc were a brushed bronze that looked like something from the 70s. Time for a change.

Good Job Brian...i do find the small makeovers are sometimes just as effective as the whole sherbang.

The plan is to eventually change the vanity our with a new one. Unfortunately when this one was installed it was basically built in place. So it would mean tearing up half the bathroom to redo it. And the tile floor is in good shape so I don't want to mess with it. The tile also extends up the wall as a tub surround. I'd also like to replace the tub eventually. I might try a tub paint instead.

Amazing what a little flooring will do to upgrade a space. We already had a nice tile floor and matching tub surround.

Well the bathroom needed a spruce up..the walls were blue and that just made the area look confined where as this is much brighter and the space seems to have doubled.

Mrs Galvi gets full credit for working her magic on this one.

That is how mine started :hammer:

I was just going to paint the walls, change some handles, etc ... :whistling:

Yours is a nice transformation, but how is it that these projects seem to balloon out of all reasonable proportion? I like the floor!

Final touch is a new shower curtain and bath mat.

Ain't that the truth.:yum:

I used to work with handicapped people. 63 staff and only 3 males. I remember once on a night shift I grabbed a scouring pad and tried to remove one scuff off the floor. That turned into 5 hrs of scrubbing on my hands and knees doing the whole house with my female shift partner cracking the whip.
