Ok all of you steel trackers, need help identifying the year of my 443. Jinn, did you get a live look at this one while in the Reno area?

Appears to have the Chrysler flathead six

Thought for sure I would have found a tag with the year but these were the ones I found

Arizona??? Must have been in the Flagstaff area.

Cat came with a custom made trailer but no title, made for a tall ride stacked trailer on trailer

4-post lift made quick work of getting it down off of there. It does run but appears to be some water in the bad gas.

Then used the gantry to get the trailer off of the trailer

Will get some photos of the interior to help with identification.

no, i missed this one, if you find the engine number, i can tell what year and who was the original owner, looks like state of Arizona, Interstate Sno-cat of Phoenix Az brought maybe a couple dozen machines in the mid to late sixties, they were a dealer for tucker inc, looks like maybe '67, great find and very happy for you.

Good find Rob. Looks like 64-67 443A. Just wait until you take both cats out in the deep deep snow and see this one out go your screaming rubber track machine.

Ok, I figured it was mid 60's. Went out with a scotch-brite pad and cleaned the 'location' of the number on the engine block and found it to be 'empty'. There are milling marks from a fly cutter but that is about it. Did snap a photo of the instrument panel if that narrows it down.

okay, the dash is from an earlier machine, with splatter paint, okay, my best guess is, serial number 1661164, engine number IND32-1185-1-304432, makes it a 1966 machine, sold to Interstate Equipment, Phoenix, Arizona, sold on 6-4-1966

Ok, after reading about the industrial motors I found they used a brass plate that is impossible to see in the cat. Was able to spot the plate with a mirror and the iPhone camera and snapped this photo.

Great, thanks for tracking that down. Not sure why it has that Arizona plate, I can't image they bought it used. Do you have copies of the individual build sheets? If not I will give Tucker a call in the morning. Thanks again.

final answer is;

1962 tucker, serial number 162840, sold to Arizona Cedar Rapids Co, Phoenix,
Az. date shipped. 5/25/62 95 hp engine 443 standard, the company also bought a second tucker, serial number 162839, a 443.

funny thing, i own serial number 162841 and 162842 sold to Union Pacific/Sun Valley,Idaho, both 442-A flatdecks

should not have passed on your machine, but thought is was better to leave more than one tucker sno-cat for others to buy, have and enjoy, so enjoy!!!

Ok, do you know if that serial number is located anywhere on the Snocat? It does not appear to have the original cab heater and thought maybe there was another plate that may have gotten removed or covered up on the inside of the firewall.

a ID/serial number tag should be right next to the notice plate, every once in a while, there is no ID/serial number plate installed
