Default Pope Signs Pact With Muslims Pushing One World Religion

Another reason to find him despicable.

Pope Francis recently signed a pact with Muslims in a possible push toward a one-world religion and declared that diversity of religions is God’s will. But wait. Doesn’t the Bible warn Christians about unifying with those who worship other gods and have contradictory beliefs?

God sent His Son to save sinners, but Allah had no son. Isn’t this a problem with anyone else? There are many glaring, stark contrasts between the founders of Christianity (Jesus) and Islam (Muhammad) as well as the doctrines themselves. Jesus taught love and forgiveness, and He also instructed His disciples to “pray for those who persecute you. (Matthew 5:44).”

But the prophet Muhammad was a violent warrior who promoted conquest, had multiple wives, and killed Jews and Christians – referring to them as infidels and sworn enemies. Look it up.

I can understand that Franc.
I doubt I'd ever leave the church, meaning the Catholic church I attend.
Father Garand is wonderful, the people at my church are wonderful.
That to me has nothing to do with what this so called pontiff is pulling in the name of unity.

I'm a former Baptist who converted to Catholicism in order to have a unified one church family. And, in order to have communion at my own wedding which would have been forbidden. I have always been somewhat hesitant in my trust of the Church which tends to accommodate the desires of the masses rather than instruct the masses in a true faith.

The Catholic church is too malleable. Too Tergiversate for my comfort. The wife, who was incredibly faithful and adherent to the Church has walked away from it because it was so transilient.

I would be happy to rejoin the fellowship of the Baptist community. She would likely follow.

When we retire to our Ozark home the East Gate Church in Good Hope Mo will be our place of worship. It spans acceptance of most Christian sects. The kind of people whose company we enjoyed last Saturday* are the kind of congregation with which we identify.

* In What are you doing today I posted our chance encounter over a flat tire.

Well I'm not a fan of the current Pope, I think he is a real socialist and a problem, but I think the "one world religion" claim is highly overblown and strays from fact.

Here is a source article linked below. In other articles I found many references to cooperation on common goals like ending war and working toward peace but nothing on joining the religions into a single religion. In fact everything seemed to indicate they would remain independent faiths. And reports also called some of the meetings ceremonial and the Vatican downplayed any possibility of realistic breakthroughs on peace talks between religions.

So all that said, I think the original source is dubious, if not outright a lie. YMMV

Again, restated more clearly, this article is one of the source articles for the above story. Nothing in the article below backs up the claims in the original post.
Quote:
...

The pope and the grand imam of al-Azhar signed a historic declaration of fraternity, calling for peace between countries, religions and races, before an audience of religious leaders across the world from Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and other different beliefs.

Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic Church, and Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, the head of Sunni Islam’s most renowned seat of learning, arrived at the ceremony in Abu Dhabi hand-in-hand in a symbol of interfaith fraternity, reports The Guardian.

The document pledges that al-Azhar and the Vatican will work together to battle extremism. Claiming to be in the name of “all victims of wars, persecution and injustice”, it warns against a “third world war being fought piecemeal.”

It says: “We resolutely declare that religions must never incite war, hateful attitudes, hostility and extremism, nor must they incite violence or the shedding of blood.”

In the first ever papal visit to the Arabian peninsula, the origin of Islam, the pope specifically called for an end to wars in the Middle East, naming Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Libya. All religious leaders had a “duty to reject every nuance of approval from the word war,” he said in a 26-minute address.

The UAE is part of the Saudi-led military coalition engaged in the war in Yemen.

On Sunday, before leaving Rome for Abu Dhabi, Francis said he was following the situation in Yemen “with great concern,” and that the population was “exhausted by the lengthy conflict, and a great many children are suffering from hunger.”

In his speech on Monday evening his first public comments during the three-day trip he welcomed “the opportunity to come here as a believer for peace... We are here to desire peace, we are here to promote peace, to be instruments of peace.”

Violence, extremism or fanaticism could never be justified in the name of religion, he said. He also called for religious freedom “not limited only to freedom of worship,” justice and for religions to “stand on the side of the poor.”

Let's not forget that 2 years ago he met with that Al-Issa from the Muslim World League.
Whether there is any real truth in the article I shared, this is a Pope who wouldn't fear rubbing shoulders with someone who holds tightly the reins of Islamic Law.

The whole thing makes me very uncomfortable.

The Pope is doing to the Catholic Church what Obama did to our country. The best thing Catholics can do is fight within to take it back....same thing we did with our country and we elected Trump.

If I was a Catholic, I'd try to get people together to demand that they kick the Pope out and get a true Catholic in there.

We know Obama was paid off by the muslims. I think the muslims are buying off the Pope too.

As large as the church is, Lenny- that would be an impossibility.
This Pope has changed the direction of the church forever.

Crossing lines for just a bit, We have a pope wanting a one world religion, and had Hillary become president we would have been brought to the one world order. Obama is still fighting for the it on the sly. We are being herded to serfdom, but people of power. Very corrupt people that care little for other humans and more for the power of wealth, and the wealth of power.

The only thing standing in the way are those that hold strong to faith and values. Those with good hearts and strong minds.
