Wipe out!!

Let's rewind this back to December 24/11 before I go any further. I was getting out of my truck in my parents driveway. It's a cement driveway with a slight down slope towards the street. I make it around the front of the truck to the corner of the house where there is a downspout drain. It was milder during the day and apparently a bit of water runnoff from the roof coming out of the drain onto the driveway. Fast forward to the evening when temps dropped. That water runoff turned to solid ice.

So I'm walking around the truck and look over and notice the neighbor's daughter, who btw was wearing very nice tight jeans:brows:, shovelling some snow(that's that white stuff that falls from the sky for you southerners). Anyways, as I was admiring the sights, I apparently found the ice that now had a thin layer of fresh snow on it. My feet were out from under me faster then I could blink. I landed square on my left elbow and knee. The knee didn't hurt but the elbow sure did. I found myself at emerg on christmas day getting an xray. Nothing was broken thankfully.

Fast forward a month and my elbow has finally stopped hurting but now the knee is hurting so bad I can hardly stand on it for more then a few minutes. It swells up as soon as I put pressure on it and I can barely bend my leg. So I decided today to drag my butt back to the doc to get it looked at. As soon as she saw it, she did a quick little test to see if there was damage, then advised me to carefully get over to get an xray on it and get myself a knee brace. I'm now referred to a knee specialist with the possibility of having surgery to repair the damage.

Groomer, one of the reasons I live down south. I can eye the nice butts and only have to worry about knocking myself out with tree limbs.

A little update on this since a couple updates were wiped out by the server crash....

My knee isn't getting any better. Actually, it's getting worse if anything. I can walk on it but only with a brace on and only for a couple minutes at a time. I'm still haulin my butt into work every day but the pain is a killer with my whole leg on fire. I saw a specialist last friday who comfirmed the damage to the knee and referred me for an MRI within 10 days hopefully(still haven't gotten a date or time for that yet) then off I go under the knife to have the damage repaired.

Hmmmm...wonder if Mulie will lend me a cain this summer so I can still get around.:whistling:

I will loan you a cane and recommend 2 lady docs in Rochester to drill a hole for the chain so you don't misplace it!:whistling:

Well, finally going in for an MRI tonight at 3:30am. Why the hell do they schedule people from out of town in the middle of the night? I know it runs 24 hrs but this is gonna suck driving home tomorrow with hardly any sleep. Hopefully I find out soon what they are gonna do about my knee. Still wearing a brace every day and can barely walk more then a half block without being in pain.

Wow at 3:30 AM?

Is this Canadian health care? 24 hours a day? I have been out in the country side too long. At 3:30 here if you want to see a doc, good luck. Even in the emegency room, they would have to call a doc in for your care....

I sure hope you get that knee fingured out. I have had both of mine repaired, and it sucks, especially in the summer time. Keep us posted as to what they find out.

Regards, Kirk
