engine swap for a bv206

i'm in the process of changing an engine in a bv206 so i took a moment document the process of emoving the power pack and how to use the lifting apperatus to remove it

the whole job to remove the power pack and replace the engine takes about 20 hours i hope to have some info about fly wheel repair on these things soon

that lifting apperattus is for the bv 206 it was borrowed from a government agency to do this job they are a bit on the rare side. as for the engine compartment they have to be kept that clean the brake is also in the tub and will throw a bunch of sparks most fires are caused by too much oil and fuel allowed to accumulate in the tubbs and ignited by sparks from the braking system oce on fire they burn fast and hot just like a boat

Are you going to install a different engine? If so, one like the original or something else?

This machine doesn't look very easy to work on....The hoist makes is not only easier, but "possible" IMHO!! And if something goes wrong with the fuel or electrical systems it will burn.....hopefully that doesn't happen very often.

just took it for a road test run's real well and another europeon 2.8 ford industrial motor in it and the old one will be sent out for a rebuild. and uncle sam had enough of them burn that i put fire alarms and fire suppresion systems in 135 of the national gaurd bv's
