Bow down to the Master! Historic Snow Trac Photo

One for Bob, from Phil Chatfield himself. A very special picture that was used on the Salvage Squad programme which captures a unique moment in the history of the Snowtrac. The group photo includes the inventor of the Snowtrac Mr Lars Larson (in the middle, wearing a light brown coat) and two directors of Aktiv Fischer in the black jackets. The snowtric on the left has just arrived bringing a pack of beer! The Snowtrac has split its left hand track all the way across, a very rare occurance which greatly suprised Aktiv, hence the visit. The photograph was taken by Major John Chatfield RM (Phil's father) who was officer in charge of the snowtrac trials and development in Norway during March 1970

Wow Anita, that is a great historical photo.

I really wonder how they split through all the belts on the track at the time. I've got to guess that they ran over something very sharp? Did they ever get an answer to the cause?
