I wonder if the new F35 fighters will actually work. They have been under a lot of scrutiny lately and apparently are not suitable for many of the missions for which they were designed.

It will be interesting to see if they can keep up with the Russian jets.

As a layman in discussions such as this, I have to think out loud and wonder if we would not be better off sending the F-22 instead. It is generally considered by those who are versed in matters such as this the best fighter jet in the world. No exports of this plane are allowed. What does that tell you? Not even to some of the good guys like Canada and Australia.

I support anything requiring stick time for our aviators. Makes them the best south of the north pole.
