I know I haven't seen many from back then so I'm hoping for an education on some of the true classics.

One of them I did see and enjoy:

The day the earth stood still

I'm with BigDog on this one. George Romero's Night of the Living Dead is one of the all time greatest. No doubt.

Umm, that movie was filmed in my back yard.... Literally, within a couple miles.
I tried to play it for my son. It scared the shit out of him.

I always liked the Night of the Demon . I'd like to see it remade with current special affects . Scared the heck out of us as kids when we'd walk back home through the woods on base .

Nosferatu (major creepy!) and the original Dracula with Bela Lugosi.
I think Creature From The Black Lagoon was in b&w when I first saw it.
Drac with Bela scared the crap out of me first time around.. must have been like 10 or 11 at the time.. didn't sleep a wink that night.:yum:

The Thing when it first came out. I saw it when I was about 10. I'm sure I wet myself a couple of times during the movie.
