Avalanche danger here is the worst it's been in 25+ years (or so I've been told) so the sledding has been pretty tame this year. We have a temperature inversion right now and it's +10 and sunny on the glaciers. I decided to take a friend up who had never been out on a snowmobile and we had a great day. Lots of photos, suntanning in January, just an easy day looking around. We were cruising down a glacier that had to be a kilometer wide and hit the only small patch that was still open.

We were only going about 30kph when we went in but it was so fast I didn't even have time to hit the brakes, I jumped/fell off the right side and you can see my shoulder imprint on the bank up top in the first pic. As I was going I grabbed her jecket to pull her off and we went over. Could have been much worse...

Funny stories, lots of pics of me digging, video of getting it out and we moved on...

BTW: Does anyone know a quick easy free video editing progam? Nothing fancy, just to clean up a video or two for youtube?

Ouch.

Windows comes with 'Movie Maker', a nothing fancy video editor.

Are there any other mountain sledders on here? This is taken after a 4000' climb. We were following a flagged trail that we had never been on to a "secret area" we had never been to before.. Turns out someone had flagged a dummy trail up a creekbed to discourage guys from finding the way to the alpine.. We made it up and it was a great day.... this was just a minor setback..

We live and ride the sleds in the mountains of WY and visit Colorado. I usually post pics in the (Outdoor Forum General Discussion) area of our snowmobile adventures. Here is my latest pics from last weekend of the grandson: http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/showthread.php?t=25134

As to Opps!! (Mistakes, Mishaps & Broke stuff) I would like to forget about them and don't want too much history on FF to haunt me later on. :whistling:
