We are selling our 1972 Bombardier Bombardier SV250. It originally was a groomer at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, then moved to a ranch in Alta, WY where it was given to a caretaker there. We purchased it from that caretaker and used it for cabin access when our children were very young. The children are older now and it is time for “Cliff” to go.
The Good:
Motor (Ford Industrial 250ci inline six) completely refurbished in 2012. Every moving part, seal and bearing was replaced. Have documentation. We also replaced the radiator, the cooling fan bearing, water pump, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel sending unit, fuel lines, ignition points, ignition coil and resistor, plugs and wires, starter solenoid, battery (2016) and battery box, oil pressure gauge, one of the steering brake cylinders, brake lines, exhaust and muffler, flatbed tunnel cover boards, refurbished the fuel tank interior, rebuilt the carter single barrel carb, have replaced a few missing rivets in the door hinges, and fixed all the lighting. The grousers and tire guides are all in good shape. The previous owner also had a new ring and pinion installed in the rear end, replaced the brake bands, put new solid tires in the front and new drive sprockets in the rear, replaced any bad wheel bearings and had the transmission rebuilt. It runs very well and will push a lot of snow with its six-way blade if you need it to. Wipers work well and the heat works even better. Warm clothing is not necessary inside the cab. It also comes with an extra wiring harness, some tire guides, track repair parts, a wheel or two, a parts manual and some other assorted parts.
The Bad:
The seats need replacing, some of the hydraulic lines are sunchecked, one of the quickcouplers for the blade weeps a little fluid, it needs a new cutting edge on the blade and the wooden sideboards around the bed are fairly old, but intact. The track rubber has a few seasons left if it's a recreational vehicle, but if I was planning on working it every day I would replace it. We concentrated all of our efforts on keeping it reliable since we were carrying our two small children back and forth to our house. We did not pay any attention to cosmetics. Things like paint, weatherstripping and decals are details we did not attend to. The hour meter and oil temp gauges do not work. The hour meter currently reads 1450. Will consider partial trade for a four-stroke utility sled, no junk please. $15,000 obo. I also included the original spec sheet with the photos. It is the skidozer 250.
