For our own good?

Pope Francis told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that the United States of America has “a distorted vision of the world” and Americans must be ruled by a world government, as soon as possible, “for their own good.”

The Pope made the observation in an interview with La Repubblica reporter Eugenio Scalfari.

“Last Thursday, I got a call from Pope Francis,” Scalfari reported. “It was about noon, and I was at the newspaper when my phone rang.”

He said Pope Francis had been watching Putin and Trump at the G20 and had become agitated. The Pope demanded to see him at four that afternoon, according to a Google translation of the Italian report.

“Pope Francis told me to be very concerned about the meeting of the G20,” Scalfari wrote.

As translated into English by Agence France Presse, which picked up the story, the Pope said “I am afraid there are very dangerous alliances between powers who have a distorted view of the world: America and Russia, China and North Korea, Russia and Assad in the war in Syria.”

“The danger concerns immigration,” the Pope continued to La Repubblica. “Our main and unfortunately growing problem in the world today is that of the poor, the weak, the excluded, which includes migrants.”

“This is why the G20 worries me: It mainly hits immigrants,” Pope Francis said, according to AFP.

Pope Francis’s idea that Americans would be better off under a world government doesn’t stop there. The radical leftist pontiff also went on record stating that Europe should become one country under one government.

In the same interview, according to La Repubblica, Pope Francis said that Europe must take on a “federal structure,” resembling feudal times when the peasants were ruled by unimpeachable monarchs.

“I also thought many times to this problem and came to the conclusion that, not only but also for this reason, Europe must take as soon as possible a federal structure,” the Pope said, according to the Google translation of the La Repubblica article.

As much as I love my Catholic faith I do question the Pope on many issues.

I would like to see a link to your above quoted article so I can read the source. I see a lot of articles that misinterpret what the Pope suggests. So I believe it when I see it from a solid Catholic source and confirmed by the Vatican.

But all that said, in the Catholic faith he is allowed to speak his mind and what is in his mind is not required to be believed or adhered to by faithful Catholics.

If you Google Pope Francis + scalfari, you'll get several interesting articles, including this one:

From what I see, some 90 YO journalist is publishing "interviews" with the Pope.

Looks suspicious to ne.

I think that the pope should stick to religion and leave government issues alone, in the USA we have a separation of church and state for a reason, pope needs to butt out.

How about the Pope put his money where his mouth is? Turn over the Vatican (a sovereign country) over to Italy and see how it goes.

:agree: Would the Vatican have been part of the one European country all under the one leader? I doubt it.
Obama was sure leading us down this very path. I suppose behind the scenes Soros and the Clinton's and more were working for this goal. Thank God Trump won the election last year.

As a former Catholic, the pope can go suck woodpecker eggs. He is a socialist, globalist and just another foreigner that hates America. He hates populism because it means the free shit is going to dry up and it will.

If he's so worried about the poor and immigrants how come the Vatican has a wall around it but we are not supposed to build a wall for ourselves. Good point, eh?

Hypocrite and a bloody phony. He should be more worried about the pedophiles infesting his church and ruining people's lives.

If anyone wants to listen to a real man of God, listen to what Franklin Graham has to say. I have a hell of a lot more respect for him then I do for Pope Fracas.

And again, I'd point out that the Pope is NOT speaking for the FAITH or for the Catholic Church, but rather is exercising his right to speak his own opinions. What he opines is not cannon or doctrine. Its nothing more than his opinion. As a faithful Catholic I am not obliged to believe what he speaks when he is voicing personal opinion. And clearly I don't.

I agree with you that he is a "socialists, globalist, etc" and I'd add that he has a total misunderstanding of both human nature and basic economics.

Well, as you say he may not be speaking for the Church, but as the head of the church on Earth, he is associated with it in such a way that makes differentiation very difficult for most people.

I guess Papal Infallibility does not apply to this type of opinion so that does make a difference. Which just goes to show, he is just like the rest of us. He puts his pants on one leg at a time and sometimes he runs his mouth and what he says is horseshit.

I think the pope was bought off just like Obama. Like Americans did, I think Catholics should put a lot of pressure on the church to get rid of this pope who does not represent them.

I posted this because of my wee bit of paranoia that since we don't have a one world government president anymore, I felt he was the "ace in the hole".
