What is your blood type?

Interesting subject, one most people don't know..

I am B- and I know that because it is rare, like 2 in 100...

It has ramifications about our general health, and each blood type has it's own unique origins and benefit/weakness.

Just curious as to what type our members here are.

Here is one article about cancer amongst the different blood types.

I'm a+. But since I had transfusions at the time of my accident to keep me alive until they could open me up, I developed an antibody and now have to carry a card saying I require JKa negative blood.

You are universal donor and, as a bonus, the favorite meal of mosquitoes.

I'm B+

Actually it is O negative that is the universal donor franc.

Negative Rh is some what rare, 15% of our population. They are a class unto themselves in that all types are represented. We lack an antigen that is what makes a person have + blood type. Because of this negative blood can be given to a + type person, but the reverse is not true.

Also an Rh negative mother can have an allergic reaction in pregnancy if she is carrying a Rh positive baby. In 1968 medicine came up with an injection that subdues that allergic reaction. Before then there truly was a huge risk to the mother and baby, many times resulting in death....

Type O is the oldest type, fallowed by A, then B, then AB.

Some cultures believe that personality is determined largely by blood type. Interesting reading if you do a search on the net about this.

I think mine B something. I'm not sure though, it's a good question. I'm due for a physical so will make it a point to ask that when I am at the doctors.

I am amazed so many people don't know.

My Dad took a trip to the ER recently, and I asked the nurse at the computer what my Dad's blood type is, and she finely gave up looking, amazed she couldn't find it in my fathers records..

I am amazed it is not included on our drivers license for that matter. If one need a transfusion fallowing an auto accident, it would make sense.

I like the O-'s as they are the only type that I can accept, other than another B- as I am..

If you really want to think on the crazy side, some believe that the Rh- type is the genetic remnants of the Nephilim, the giants referenced in the first book of the Bible... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nephilim

I have no clue

It's kinda handy to know. Although if you need a rapid transfusion, most likely your state of consciousness may make the knowledge mute.

I tested B+ many, many years ago. Kept the knowledge mostly for Red Cross donations. But yesterday, being Monday and a long suffering day with a rather difficult client, I came home thirsty and pissed. By 10:00 PM I would probably have tested at 12%.:yum:
