Jim,

Mine is really close to International harvester red. I find this handy, as I can use it to touch up inbehind the tracks with a simple spray can. Point is try and find a color that can be had in a aeorsol can....Easy touch ups.

That is a great idea.My neighbor restores and paints JD tractors. I really think it should be a color that can be seen . I'm about 1/2 done on the stripping .I need it soon for some snowmobile sign removial on about 35 miles of trails. So i can't waste much time. It can't be done with a ATV because of snow banks in the shaded areas.
I think some kind of etching is going to be needed on the smooth alumimun sides.

hi Jim,
Call Doug at Canyon auto paint supply near Puyallup ( he is usually there in the mornings), He set me up with some etching primer when i painted a aluminum tunnel extension for a Skidoo snowmobile, Primer held under the black topcoat and it never flaked. you can use white viniger as a surface prep, it has a similar effect to Alodine

any one who supplies the aircraft industry with paint can get you some primer the best stuff i have seen is about the same color as your st was than you can top cote it with immiron or a polyurathane single stage paint or base clear mine got painted with equipment enamal and has held up good but is starting to show age now

I used that 9000 winch one time to help a pickup. It is kind of like dead weight. I did used it in my shop by hooking it overhead and lifting my front off the floor. The deal is and I'm sure you know , that the front isn't built strong enough for that much pull. You'll pull it off.
That aircraft stripper works good. I put it on and pressured washed the paint off. I got tired on the hood part and didn't take it all the way down.
When are you comming down?
