Not to Germans. They like their beer at room temperature. They also eat chocolate with beer (another totally useless fact).

When I was stationed in Heidelberg in the mid-60's, the tourist trade dictated that beer had to be served cold. However for the locals, the bars had a stainless steel cylinder (about 2 inches long) that would be heated and hung on the inside of the glass to warm the local's beer.
