Deep fried Strawberries!
30-40 fresh and large strawberries
• 2 cups of flour
• 1/4 tsp. Salt
• 1/4 tsp. Sugar
• 1 1/2 cups of beer of your choice
• 5 egg whites
• cream of tartar
• Cooking oil (Baker And Chefs Peanut Oil or for people that have peanut allergies use Bakers and Chefs Clear Frying Oil sold at Sam's Club in 35-lb containers)
• powdered sugar
Directions
Items Needed:
1. First, wash, dry and hull your strawberries
2. Heat your oil to 350 F (does not have to be peanut oil.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour with 1/4 tsp. of sugar and salt
4. Add 1 1/2 cup of beer of your choice and beat the mixture until smooth
5. In a seperate bowl beat 5 egg whites and add a pinch of cream of tartar stiff
6. Gently fold your egg whites into your beer batter , but thoroughly
7. Dip your strawberries into batter and fry a couple at a time, (1-2 minutes or until golden brown)
8. Place your strawberries on a plate lined with paper towels and let excess oil drain
9. Roll your strawberries in powdered sugar
10. Also excellent served on top of custard sauce
