LOS ANGELES - It’s a century and counting for the Chicago Cubs.
Manny Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers shoved Chicago into another long winter Saturday night, completing a three-game sweep of their first-round playoff series with a 3-1 victory.
The Cubs’ latest flameout has to be among the most galling, considering they fell flat against the Dodgers after their best regular season since 1945.

No, I didn't know it...I had more important things to do yesterday....like visit with Vin and Mary.

White Sox barely made it in the playoffs. I doubt they will go far. JMO

I played organized baseball from the time I was about 5 years old until my sophomore year in high school. It was then that I got taunted and flat showed up by some guy who not only talked the talk but walked the walk. He convinced me that I just couldn't compete with him. He was a pitcher like I was but could also play about any position. His name was Don Mattingly. You may have heard of him. Since he proved to me that I really sucked in baseball when I thought I was decent, I quit baseball to play other sports where I didn't feel so....inadequate. :blink:
