Just Plinkin Away the $$
A friend of mine just had his computer crash & I told him about the emachines I had recently bought at wally world to serve as a extra backup.
( I snapped it up as it still was equipped with XP & not vista)
Like a dumbass I bragged how well it was working for me & I recommended the same model to him.
He bought the same model I just got several weeks ago, but has had some issues setting his up. I converted him from IE to firefox & he loves it, but now the windows media player 11 ( we just downloaded the latest version last nite) won't play most or maybe all media (video) files.
It says codecs are missing & try as we could, we can't get the player to play anything but audio files. What setting am I missing that will get this going ? I had hoped that loading the newest version of the player would solve the problem, but get the same error message with mp11 as we got with the version that came installed on the computer.
I had the same issue on my HP computer at the shop a year or so ago, but forget what I had to do or change to get it working.
HELP !!
Thanks
Tom
